Not another holiday... ! A relaxing trip to Barbados Day 7/8
Sun
7th Sept
We got up and headed to breakfast a little earlier today. Thankfully we managed to miss the crazed masses and Rob got his omelette within a few minutes. We decided to spend a lazy morning in the room before leaving around 1 to head to the Roundhouse for lunch.
We got up and headed to breakfast a little earlier today. Thankfully we managed to miss the crazed masses and Rob got his omelette within a few minutes. We decided to spend a lazy morning in the room before leaving around 1 to head to the Roundhouse for lunch.
The
Roundhouse was on the other side of the island and unfortunately we got a
little lost. It took us about an hour to get there on some rather bumpy roads –
I’m reasonably sure we took one wrong turn which lead to quite the detour!
Lunch
was great, the waitress brought some garlic bread as our fries were still being
cooked – we weren’t even really aware of a delay but apparently she was!
We
were quite full but managed to squeeze in ice cream for dessert which was nice
:)
We
drove back across the Island to the hotel – thankfully we didn’t take a wrong
turn and so it only took around 30 minutes to get back.
We
watched the women's tennis final which was disappointing as it was a little one
sided and then later went to the lounge. We had some snacks (vegetable samosas
and cheese sandwiches) and drinks including a cappuccino (the machine didn’t
always work) :)Mon 8th Sept
Breakfast was thankfully back to normal today, no crazed masses and interestingly we appeared to have been joined by the Mexican Davis Cup team (they were in town for their Davis Cup tie vs Barbados).
The
car went back this morning and so we lazed around on the beach for a few hours.
We went to the lounge and got afternoon snacks then watched the US Open mens
final.
We continued the lazy theme by having dinner in the hotel.
