Olympics Tennis at Wimbledon - Sat 28th July (Part 3)
So, back to court 2 and the Isner/Rochus match had finished. Isner had come through in straight sets - not sure of the score though.
Next up: Li Na (Na Li) vs Daniela Hantuchova
We arrived back at the court during the warm up and Jennifer had left to get food so we texted her to let her know we were back. We moved to the other side of the court so our view was slightly obstructed by the umpire but we thought we might have an autograph opportunity later....
Daniela got off to a good start and took the first set comfortably. Na Li came back at her though and took the 2nd set so we had to wait a little while longer.
Some other people had come along to watch the Murrays:
In the 3rd set it looked like Na Li would take control and then suddenly Daniela decided to prove me wrong (I said she has a habit of winning a first set then losing) and she did indeed come through and win!
So, finally it was time for Jamie and Andy vs Melzer/Peya!
So, here come the teams onto court:
The boys started off well and got an early break (I think) but unfortunately Jamie was broken. They did come through and take the set though (7-5 I think) and we had high hopes that they could win the match.
The 2nd set was very close - again I think the boys got a break but Jamie lost serve again :(
This set was decided on a tie break and the boys did have a chance but Melzer and Peya managed to grab the set and level the match :(
So, into the 3rd we went and the crowd were really behind Andy and Jamie. I'm not sure if it came across on the TV but there was lots of noise and it was much more Davis Cup like than Wimbledon :)
They managed to break again but unfortunately Jamie was broken again so we were back on serve.
5 all and the Austrian's held serve so it was now up to Jamie to hold so that they could try and get another break.
It was not to be and yes I know Andy was responsible for the actual losing shot but he really was the stronger of the two on Saturday.
The Austrian's picked up on this and they were sending everything Jamie's way to try and expose his weaknesses :(
Still, whilst it was a disappointing loss (as it was so close) it was brilliant to see the boys playing for their country in the Olympics!
We had been texting Dave and Fiona - they were seated quite a long way away from us......can you spot them in this photo?
So, the match over we decided that we should head over to see what our seats would have been like.....and Del Potro was still playing his match.
They were already into the 2nd set when we arrived and Del Potro was completely in control. He broke soon after we arrived and the match was quickly completed.
A couple of pictures to prove we were at Court 1 and didn't steal the photos online ;)
We left court 1 and took a quick wander around and got Rob some pizza to avoid and grumpiness on the train ride home.
I took a photo of this guy:
Insert random photo of my badly painted (but patriotic) nails:
We took the free shuttle back to the station, got the last train home 2130 and arrived back in Gillingham at 2330, where dad picked us up and drove us home :)
Almost forgot - I paid £30 for my ticket and despite spending very little time on court 1 I definitely felt like I got value for money :)

Mr and Mrs Henman in the house!
Some of the female Team Murray contingent :)
So, finally it was time for Jamie and Andy vs Melzer/Peya!
More Team Murray arrivals - and we are moving chairs!
Yep, these seats are much better :)
