A touch of Disney and 2 cruises in a week! Day 2 (At Sea)

Monday

We had a little lie in today, and headed down to breakfast at 0930.

The staff appeared happy to have some guests to look after (I think we had about 6 people looking after us) and we were quickly supplied with coffee, tea and pastries. We browsed the menu and I selected French toast whilst Rob had an omelette.

During our meal we were checked on regularly and my coffee was kept topped up. While we were there Head Waiter Edwin booked us Chops Grille and Jamie’s (at a cost of $80 each) which was great - Rob had been keen to try Chops but we hadn't really wanted to pay $55 each for 1 meal.

We picked up a cappuccino for me on the way back to our room, then lazed about for a little while.

We then popped to the shops and casino (where we successfully lost our free $4 credit) and went to a jewellery ‘talk’.

We didn’t win either raffle (despite there being only 10 people entered including us) but did get a free earring and pendant set. I had a quick look at the jewellery but didn't see anything that I was tempted to spend my money on.

Next up lunch (even though it feels like breakfast was only a few minutes ago) we had pizza from Sorrento’s and I picked up another coffee - I had a latte this time.

A few photos from around the ship:

Soon it was time for We Will Rock You which I had been looking forward to, I love musicals and had enjoyed the Disney shows so was keen to see how this compared.

I really enjoyed it - it was brilliant to be watching a 'Broadway style' show. The cast were amazing and I would happily have watched the show again (but the app wouldn't let me book again, even though I am sure there would have been space). The mask compliance during the show was non existent even though the 'rules' suggested masks should be worn.

Next I went to the gym to do a 30 min walk (I planned to do this each day - we shall see if I actually did manage it), I didn’t quite manage 2 miles because I selected the wrong treadmill as I was facing the sun and had left my sunglasses in the room

Afterwards I headed back to the room again for a shower and rest before formal night dinner - where I finally had an opportunity to wear my Tower of Terror dress!

Dinner was beef carpaccio, beef tenderloin and chocolate cake for Rob. I had the cheese plate, duck and then cheesecake. Again, this was excellent and Jo and Jaya took good care of us - Jo even convinced Rob to have extra vegetables with his main

We popped into the music hall for a pre-show drink, the band was a bit screechy for us and the singer was a bit too keen on 'wooing'.

Our show for the evening was Gary Williams who played some classics accompanied by the orchestra - I really enjoyed this, but I think Rob was less impressed than I was.
